Special Purpose Inspections

Special Purpose Inspections

Our Inspectors with their wealth of knowledge in various industries along with the use of the latest technologies [Moisture meters; Thermal cameras; Bore scopes; D.F.T Meters and Force gauges, to name a few) will be able to carry out a range of special purpose inspections to comply to your needs.

Leak Detection

Hidden leaks are by nature hard to find. Accurate detection without property damage requires the right combination of experts and specialised inspection equipment. Our Inspectors and specialised equipment can save property owners  money from early detection. And just as important, our non-invasive techniques save property owners in costly property damage and destruction caused by water damage. Though leaks are more likely to be experienced in older properties, newer properties can also be subject to hidden plumbing issues. Poor construction, corrosion, and shifting ground can all result in unexpected pipe damage at any time. If undetected, these problems can threaten property, with repair costs increasing as the problem worsens.

Storm Damage Reports

Our experience has shown that many property owners, body corporate and businesses have suffered storm damage, only to have to pay for repairs themselves when the roof leaked prematurely or because it went unnoticed until the home or building sold and a per-purchase inspection was conducted. Having your home or building inspected by an independent inspector qualified in building defects following damage after a storm will give you the exact picture of your home or building to present to your insurance adjustor. Get what you deserve and make sure your home or building is fixed correctly.

  • Testing of coating thickness, hardness, adhesion, gloss and colour

Electrical Inspections

To thoroughly inspect and thermograph electrical switchboards; electrical board cover plates are opened to expose the electrical wiring and components. A Detailed report specifying irregularities found is provided, including the image as recorded. Rapid Inspections thermographers are certified level III thermographers  and use the latest Infrared thermal imaging technology to ensure accurate thermograms. Infrared Thermography can detect potentially serious faults before they have a chance to develop. A survey of an electrical installation will reveal in seconds any abnormal component temperatures preceding equipment failure. The Thermography report identifies the exact area of the fault so no time is wasted using elimination processes. Cost savings are made if the procedure is used as part of a regular preventative maintenance program. Unexpected breakdowns in all types of plant can be prevented well in advance of their becoming apparent. Repairs and/or maintenance can then be scheduled as required. Identify potential equipment/component failure or irregularities in loading, prevent fire/explosion, check component integrity and determine loading condition of equipment

Photo-voltaic (Solar Panel) Inspections

Rapid Inspections can locate faults in Photo-voltaic arrays of any size from small domestic to large commercial installations. A thermal imaging scan can be conducted with ease and locate any faulty panels among many that may exist. Our reports can be used for insurance purposes, maintenance contracts or presented to the panel manufacturer. Solar energy overall is very reliable, effective way of producing electricity. It does have some downsides and can be dangerous. It is also very common for owners to have them installed and then be unaware of potential hazards associated with ownership and neglect maintenance. A thermal imaging scan along with a full visual inspection will reduce any potential threats and keep performance on track.

We can locate:

  • Interconnection issues
  • Hot spots
  • Micro cracking
  • Complete panel failure
  • Soldered connection failures
  • Pollution and mould build up
  • Potential damage after storms
  • Defective Cells
